The L2T team wants to share with you the stories of women and men who strive to achieve the intended goal of Title IX – creating opportunity so that individuals, regardless of gender, can reach their full potential. Many have become leaders in their communities, organizations, and, in some cases, countries. These are their leaders.
Edith Green
Edith Green was a Democratic U.S. congresswoman from Oregon who was instrumental to the passage of the Title IX legislation.
Barbara Jordan
Barbara Jordan became the first African-American congresswoman to be elected, and re-elected, from the deep South.
