Ms. Magazine Turns 35
Ms. Magazine is an icon of the feminist movement. When Ms. Magazine was launched as a "one-shot" sample insert in New York Magazine in December 1971, few realized it would become the landmark institution in both women's rights and American journalism that it is today. The first regular issue hit newsstands in July 1972 and the publication celebrated its 35th anniversary this year. As a part of its commemorative issue, Ms Magazine spoke with women around the world to gain their reflections on the feminist movement and what it means to them.
