The WAGE Project

The WAGE Project

The WAGE Project, Inc is a national organization committed to ending
wage discrimination against working women. Evelyn Murphy, the first
female Lt. Governor of Massachusetts, is President of The WAGE Project
and is also a resident scholar in the Women’s Studies Research Center
at Brandeis University, where she has researched and authored a book
on women’s wages entitled "Getting Even: Why Women Don’t Get Paid
Like Men and What To Do About It."

The WAGE Project website includes helpful information regarding the wage gap between men and women.  It provides information regarding laws governing compensation and sex discrimination in pay as well as provides tips on how to reseach the issue while encouraging users to share their stories. The organization also conducts a series of Start Smart workshops on college campuses in the Northeast which provide information and resources to female college graduates to help them get paid fairly when they graduate from college.

One of the most unique tools offered by The Wage Project is a wage/locator tool. Via this tool, users can determine compensation based on job, skill level
and geographic location and use this information as a part of their
negotiations with potential employers.  The tool also includes information
not only in regard to salary but benefits as well.  To use the tool, go to
the The WAGE project website at www.wageproject.org and select "calculate
your wage gap."
