Title IX: The Journey Continues
selected story
philoSophie's
“A strong cup of coffee and self-confidence can carry you past the morning”…
and right on into an extremely successful career.
A native of Rochester, NY, Joanna Alberti doesn’t have the strict no-nonsense attitude one would expect of a young woman rated by Business Week as one of the top five entrepreneurs under 25 in 2005. With a bright smile and warm eyes, Alberti seems as whimsical, friendly and fun as her greeting card line’s main character, Sophie.
Before creating philoSophie’s, Joanna worked in advertising for one of Boston’s leading agencies, Hill Holiday. While there, her responsibilities included developing targeted marketing plans. After juggling two careers at once (a daytime commitment at the agency followed by evenings curled up with her sketchpad), Joanna left the agency to pursue her passion of illustrating life’s best moments.
Joanna has combined her creativity and marketing experience to create products that appeal to a niche market of can-do women. Today, stores across the country carry Alberti’s philoSophie’s® products.
In her spare time, Joanna enjoys photography, painting and drawing.
